Aftab Hussain
Assistant Research Officer

Mr. Aftab Hussain is Assistant Research Officer at Islamabad Policy Research Institute (IPRI), Islamabad. He has an academic background of Bachelors in Arts with major in Political Science and Muslim History (2002-2004), M.Sc in Defence and Strategic Studies (2006-2008) from Quaid-e-Azam University, Islamabad. Presently, he is completing M.Phil in Defence and Strategic Studies in the same university. Before joining IPRI he has worked as Sub-Editor in four different Sindhi daily newspapers, which included daily “Tameer-e-Sindh,” daily “Sindh,” daily “Halchal” and daily “Sobh” for two years. Working as a journalist his responsibilities included reporting, translation, and editing. His areas of interest include nuclear weapons, nuclear proliferation, arms control and disarmament. He also focuses on strategic issues and political developments around the world with special focus on Russia and Eastern Europe.
