Ambassador ® Sohail Amin

President

Ambassador ® Sohail Amin holds Degrees of LLB (Pb) and Master of International Studies from the University of Birmingham (UK). He studied Arabic language at Al-Azhar University and the American University in Cairo. Mr Amin joined the Foreign Service of Pakistan in 1980 and held diplomatic assignments in Iraq (1983-87), Germany (1991-1994), the Sudan (1994-1997), Australia (1999-2001) and Indonesia (2001-2002). He served as Ambassador of Pakistan to Nepal (2005-2008) and later as Ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman (2008-2011). He also worked at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in various positions. The areas of his responsibility in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during his various stints at headquarters, included Middle East, UK, Europe, Commonwealth countries, EU, Russia and East Europe. Ambassador ® Sohail Amin was member of the Pakistan delegation during several visits of the Heads of State, Heads of Government, and Foreign Ministers to other countries. He attended numerous international events including the Non-Aligned Movement and the Organisation of Islamic Conference Summits. He participated in several Ministerial Meetings with Iran, Iraq, EU, UK, ASEAN and European countries. Mr. Amin also headed the Foreign Service Academy in Islamabad where specialized Foreign Service training is imparted to Pakistani and foreign diplomats. The Academy has a visiting Faculty comprising highly qualified researcher, academics and professionals.
