IPRI organised a two-day International Conference on ‘Achieving Peace in Afghanistan: Challenges and Prospects’ on 10 and 11 May 2017, in collaboration with HSF.

The event was reported by the print media on Day One as well as Day Two. It also received traction on several media channels including:

The Chief Guests of this Conference were:

  • H.E. Mr Sartaj Aziz, Advisor to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs
  • Tehmina Janjua, Foreign Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Government of Pakistan.

Special Guest Speakers included:

  • H.E. Dr. Hazrat Omar Zakhilwal, Ambassador of Afghanistan to Pakistan
  • Owais Ahmed Ghani, Senior Research Fellow and Member Board of Directors, Global Think Tank Network (GTTN), NUST,  Islamabad, Pakistan and Former Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
