The domestic political environment of Pakistan and geopolitical
environment of the world as a whole remains highly dynamic. With
each passing day, new factors are constantly evolving, in turn
generating challenges, shaping new courses and influencing public
perceptions and state policies. The Islamabad Policy Research
Institute (IPRI) was founded in 1999 as an autonomous body to
produce well-analysed inputs and ideas to formulate responses to
meet such challenge.
IPRI
is a research institute dedicated to undertaking analyses and
evaluations of important national and international
politico-strategic issues and developments affecting Pakistan, South
Asia, and the world affairs. It projects an independent viewpoint
and provides well considered options to the policy makers. IPRI
freely interacts with similar national and international fora and
scholars to benefit from exchange of ideas and views through holding
and participating in seminars, workshops and discussions.
IPRI Journal
is a bi‑annual, refereed journal enjoying wide circulation. The
journal consists of researched articles on current topics of global
affairs. IPRI welcomes contributions to the journal by IPRI
researchers and other scholars of repute. A section of each issue is
dedicated to reviews of the recently published books.
IPRI
Paper is an in‑depth study on a topic of international affairs and
is published in a monograph form. Research for an IPRI Paper is
conducted after discussing it with an adviser at IPRI about the
scope and topic of research.
IPRI
Factfile is a monthly publication, which is a compilation of facts
about specific issues of global and domestic affairs that are
gathered from various sources. It serves as a valuable source of
resource material/data bank for researchers, journalists, students,
parliamentarians and other interested readers.
In addition
to the above‑mentioned publications, IPRI regularly publishes books
on various regional and international issues, authored either by its
research staff or based on conference papers. Some of the published
books are: Arms Race and Nuclear Developments in South Asia,
Conflict Resolution and Regional Cooperation in South Asia, RAW.
Global and Regional Ambitions, Tribal Areas of Pakistan: Challenges
and Responses, and Kashmir Imbroglio: Looking Towards the Future.
